How do I update my Operating System?
Why you need to diligently update your operating system:
Windows and Apple not only release feature updates to their operating systems and other products but they also release security patches to their systems on a regular basis. Security threats are always evolving and both companies keep on top of those threats by actively releasing updates to protect against hacking, viruses and other threats.
How often you should run updates to your operating system:
Microsoft releases feature updates and patches every Tuesday, so you should check for updates on Wednesday or Thursday, weekly. Apple does not have a set day or time that they release updates, but checking once a week is good practice. Always check for updates again after installing initial updates, some updates won’t appear until the previous updates are installed.
